DESCRIPTION

Purpose

Gas tanks are widely used, including in the oil storage facilities to avoid losses in small and large breathing of the tank farms, as well as in the chemical and nuclear plants.

Field of application:

The territories of oil storage facilities, refineries, oil terminals*, gas stations and other facilities for storage and distribution of light oil products - to reduce the loss of gasoline at small and large breathing of the tanks up to 95%.
Oil products supply facilities in residential areas - to ensure fire safety of facilities (recommended by the Institute of Fire Protection of the Russian Federation).
Oil production facilities – in the systems of concentration and recycling of NGL and of associated petroleum gas.

* The use of gasholders - compensators in combination with a vacuum condensate recovery system for stable gas condensate is provided at the oil loading marine terminals.

Structure and principle of operation

1 cubic meter of steam-air mixture contains from 1 to 2 liters of reduced gasoline. The oil storage facility or liquid terminal equipped with gasholders – recuperators produces up to 1,500 litres of condensate of each 1 000 cubic meters of crude oil or gasoline. Unlike the "floating roofs", elastic gasholders-recuperators of NPF "Politechnika” are hermetically connected to the gas equalization binding of the tank farm of the oil storage facility and accumulate hydrocarbon vapors both during the filling of the tanks with oil products (large breathing) and during thermal evaporation (small breathing). When the oil product is drained from the tanks, the hydrocarbon vapors return to the released volume of the tanks, forming a closed "tank — gasholder" system. Among other things, such a system ensures compliance with environmental standards, preventing emissions of petroleum vapor into the atmosphere.

Materials

Elastic tanks produced by NPF "Politechnika" are made of new composite elastomers. The materials are characterized by exceptional chemical resistance to concentrated hydrochloric and sulfuric acids (which is important in the industries including the enrichment of precious metal ores), as well as to methanol (hydrate inhibitor in oil and gas production).

The composite consists of seven layers (two of them - barrier polyamide). This design radically reduces the diffusion through the shell of both the storage product and the moisture and air from the outside. The thickness of the barrier layer reaches 60 microns.

To prevent the accumulation of static electricity the composition of the polymers includes special hydrophilic additives that completely eliminate the risk of spark breakdown.

In March 2016, a field fuel storage facility of PSG-5000 type was commissioned at our mine, it consists of 20 elastic tanks of PER-250 type, with a total capacity of 5000 m³. The reason for the installation - the replacement of obsolete elastic tanks of type ArcticKingTank 125 m³ produced by SEIIndustries Ltd (Canada). Equipment and materials of PSG-5000 were delivered to the site in full completeness and in good condition. The kit takes into account everything, up to rags, and with sufficient stock. Installation supervision works on installation of tanks are organized at a high level, performed as soon as possible and efficiently, despite the harsh weather conditions. During the period of operation of the tanks, no deficiencies were identified.

In September 2014, LLC NPF "Politechnika" carried out for JSC "NNK-Taimyrneftegazdobycha" rapid delivery, deployment, installation and commissioning of a field fuel warehouse (PSG) with a capacity of 3000 m³. During the work process, the contractor's specialists not only participated personally in the installation, but also trained the employees of JSC "NNK-Taimyrneftegazdobycha" in order, features of operation and maintenance of tanks, unit acceptance, procedures for minor repairs of products. It is also necessary to note the ease of deployment of both the canopies and the tanks themselves (the elementary presence of metal rings on the canopies and the presence of welded handles on the tanks removes a lot of problems on their deployment). Such approach to the project also makes cooperation with NPF "Polytechnic" attractive in comparison with other similar manufacturers.
