Purpose

Water-filled hose anti-flood dams (VRD type) are flexible prefabricated water barriers used to protect the water area or territory of vital civil and industrial facilities from the effects of water elements.

Production of water-filled hose anti-flood dams were produced firstly in Russia by the NPF "Polytechnica".

High quality and reliability of products are appreciated by the Ministry of emergency situations of the Russian Federation and by the departmental rescue services.

Field of application:

drainage of bottom sections for construction and repair of hydraulic structures,
ensuring prompt and reliable protection of industrial and social facilities from floods and inundations,
carrying out works related to laying and repair of underwater sections of trunk pipelines,
drainage of the water area in the production of works on the construction or repair of waterways, canals and other communications for water supply.

To protect settlements and industrial facilities from floods and floods, sandbags were used earlier. Laying of protective dams made of sandbags required a lot of time, manual labor and large material costs.

One water-filled hose dam of the VRD type of 25 m length replaces 1000 sandbags. Time required for installation and filling of dam of 1000 m long is only 30 minutes!

Composition and principle of operation

The water filling dam is a closed hose with an outer shell made of synthetic fabric and two inner sealed chambers made of multilayer polymer films.

The dams are equipped with drain outlets, couplings with plugs for separate connection of the pump or motor pump and drainage outlets for water drainage.

The shell contains straps for fixing the water-filled dam on the surface slope and fastening them with ropes. During transportation, the dams are rolled up and packed in wooden boxes or in fabric covers.

Advantages of the water-filled hose anti-flood dams (VRD type) made by NPF "Polytechnica":

Low labor intensity of installation works. To protect settlements and industrial facilities from floods and inundations "sandbag"type barriers are traditionally used. However, their laying of protective dams of sandbags requires a lot of time and manual labor. One water-filled hose dam of the VRD type of 25 m of length replaces 1000 sandbags.
Profitable logistics. Empty elastic shells are lightweight, easy to fold and take up little space during transportation.
Saving on raw materials. Water - free resource available in excess in the immediate vicinity of the deployment site is used as a filler for water-filled hose anti-flood dams of VRD type.
The maximum speed of deployment in the field. The installation of one structure of water-filled hose dams with a length of 1000 m requires no more than 30 minutes and low labor costs, which is especially important in conditions of shortage of specialists in emergency situations with the water element. Special training of personnel and the use of special equipment for the installation is not required.
Long service life.Water-filled hose anti-flood dams of VRD type can be used repeatedly.

In March 2016, a field fuel storage facility of PSG-5000 type was commissioned at our mine, it consists of 20 elastic tanks of PER-250 type, with a total capacity of 5000 m³. The reason for the installation - the replacement of obsolete elastic tanks of type ArcticKingTank 125 m³ produced by SEIIndustries Ltd (Canada). Equipment and materials of PSG-5000 were delivered to the site in full completeness and in good condition. The kit takes into account everything, up to rags, and with sufficient stock. Installation supervision works on installation of tanks are organized at a high level, performed as soon as possible and efficiently, despite the harsh weather conditions. During the period of operation of the tanks, no deficiencies were identified.

In September 2014, LLC NPF "Politechnika" carried out for JSC "NNK-Taimyrneftegazdobycha" rapid delivery, deployment, installation and commissioning of a field fuel warehouse (PSG) with a capacity of 3000 m³. Thanks to the competent organization of installation works by the contractor, despite the severe weather and climatic conditions, the warehouse was prepared for acceptance of fuel in the shortest possible time. During the work process, the contractor's specialists not only participated personally in the installation, but also trained the employees of JSC "NNK-Taimyrneftegazdobycha" in order, features of operation and maintenance of tanks, unit acceptance, procedures for minor repairs of products. It is also necessary to note the ease of deployment of both the canopies and the tanks themselves (the elementary presence of metal rings on the canopies and the presence of welded handles on the tanks removes a lot of problems on their deployment). Such approach to the project also makes cooperation with NPF "Polytechnic" attractive in comparison with other similar manufacturers.
